Since launched in 2025, PayTribes was growth from an idea that there had to be a better, fair way to move money around the world.
Our story
PayTribes was born in 2025 when our Founder and CEO Foluwa T. Rewane worked in London, UK. The first thing on his to-do list was to open a bank account so that they could receive his salary, rent a place to stay, and send money to his family in Canada. To open a bank account he needed proof of his address, utility bills, and countless other documents – but he couldn’t get any of these without having a bank account.
After being stuck in this frustrating loop, he tried to fix it so that no one would ever have to go through the same painful experience again. Until he came up with the idea for PayTribes: an online remittance service that helps everyone send money abroad easier, cheaper, and faster.
